Petey Greene Program at UMD GBM: COVID-19 and Its Impact on Incarcerate Individuals with Guest Speaker!

Join the Petey Greene Program at UMD for our general body meeting on Thursday, March 11th from 6-7pm where we will be discussing the impact of the the COVID-19 pandemic on incarcerated individuals and the functioning of prisons/jails. Claire Glenn, a Prince George's County public defender, will join us as a guest speaker to share about her involvement in Gasping for Justice, a campaign that sought to highlight the COVID-19 outbreak that occurred in Prince George's County Correctional Facility last year, and how the pandemic is impacting her work and her clients. We will also be discussing things such as COVID-19 outbreaks in prisons and jails nationally, 23 hour lockdowns, lack of PPE, vaccination plans, and more.
