The application to apply is linked HERE and we would really appreciate it if you could send this information out to your members. We also have a document that walks you through the application process HERE .The process of applying to be a counselor includes this application and an interview. Applications close on March 4th at 11:59 pm and interviews will be held shortly after.
We are holding an information session Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:30 pm. Here is the link to that meeting. We are holding this meeting to answer any questions people may have about the counselor application process.

Disability Affinity Space - March 4 - Show and Tell: Lightning Round
Student Disability Community Affinity Space
It’s Show and Tell: Lightning Round! at the next Student Disability Affinity Space!
Thursday, March 4 | 5 - 6 PM | Zoom | Register at https://go.umd.edu/disabilityaffinitymarch4
The President’s Commission on Disability Issues Student Advisory Committee (PCDI-SAC) is a student group that aims to serve as a voice for students with disabilities and their advocates by sharing their experiences on the University of Maryland campus. SAC provides a platform for students to form bonds, propose change and reduce the stigma surrounding disabilities, neurodivergence, and mental illness, with the goal of creating an accessible and inclusive campus.
PCDI-SAC is hosting Student Disability Community Affinity Spaces this spring semester. If you identify as a part of the disability community, come join us! The meetings are a space to connect, socialize, support each other, and share resources.
Our next Affinity Space on March 4th, is Show and Tell: Lightning Round! The hope is that folks will show, share, or present anything that is of interest to them! Some examples are:
Share your new favorite quarantine recipe
Show a new craft you've been working on
Share a book, movie, artist, song, poem, etc. that you enjoy
Share about events coming up, an event you attended, a resource or media source you like, etc. (disability related or not!)
Fun facts you've learned
A project you're working on
Truly, anything you want!!!
The only "rule" is that folks will have about 5 minutes to share (given we have a lot of attendees who'd like to share). Attendees are not required to share anything. Come share something cool, or sit back and learn something new!
Please find information, meeting dates, and zoom registrations at https://pcdi.umd.edu/disability-affinity-space.
Please contact PCDI at pcdi-sac@umd.edu with questions or if you need accommodations that will facilitate your full participation in the event. Please find updated details at https://pcdi.umd.edu/disability-affinity-space

Our writers and editors typically create an initial script for the podcast hosts and speakers to read off of before the discussion component of the podcast. Writers and editors typically do the research behind our weekly topics such as statistics, definitions, and general background information. We don't require writers to speak in the podcast. They may speak in it if they choose to!

Join Tikkun Olam Makers @ UMD
Tikkun Olam Makers is a decentralized 3D printing company where different
communities create and share open source designs for neglected challenges. At UMD, we have been printing PPE for the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, a group of residences where intellectually disabled residents of all faiths are taken in and cared for. They are experiencing a dire lack of PPE due to the COVID-19 crisis. We are looking to provide aid to them and others that may have been disproportionately affected by this crisis.
We are partnered with the youth center at the Fort Meade army base, and are also looking for people interested in helping make educational videos to get kids interested in STEM!
We’ll be having virtual interest meetings on March 9th and 11th at 7:30 pm. Please fill out this google form if you’re interested in attending! https://tinyurl.com/34f5tz2c
